Name: Jeremy
Instrument: Vocals / Guitar
Birthdate: 06/03/75
Joined up: Mid ‘93
Musical influences: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Red Hot Chili Peppers
Little-known fact: Jeremy has trouble eating fish unless the head is still attached to it.
Jeremy has been passionate about music for as long as he can remember, and formed a number of bands through his youth to satisfy that passion until he and Zygote found each other. His addition to the group was the catalyst that established them as something more than one of the dozens of high-school bands that were springing up all over the place at the time, and their longevity and success from that point has proven the fact. His throaty vocals and lyrical sensibility changed the pace of the band from mostly-metal to incorporate a wider variety of musical elements into the mix, and the band’s sound as we know it began to take shape. Onstage he is the consummate frontman, moody as all hell and a relentless perfectionist to boot. His voice is unique and carries a sustained growl, occasionally dipping down to a breathy whisper or roaring up to a muscular scream. He and Amir trade particularly beautiful vocal harmonies, and his solid rhythm work on the guitar lends weight and substance to Zygote’s songs. He has a deep interest and a fair bit of experience in the production side of music as well, getting hands-on involved in any aspect of the band that concerns recording or filming. All in all a well-rounded musician with an eye for detail and the drive to make music his life’s quest.
